The Zoetrope collection explores animation through the medium of machine knitting, translating a sequence of illustrated frames into a continuous textile composition. Inspired by the mechanics of the 19th-century zoetrope, the scarves feature a running sequence of illustrated bunnies that appear to move when viewed in succession.

I’ve always been drawn to animation and its ability to give even the simplest images a sense of character. This collection brings that interest into something functional, combining playful imagery with everyday wearability. I’m interested in accessories that introduce something unexpected to an outfit while remaining practical enough to be worn regularly.

Each design is digitally illustrated and programmed into a Shima Seiki knitting system, with the imagery built directly into the fabric. Made from organic cotton, the scarves prioritize comfort, breathability, and longevity through the use of natural fibers. Each piece is individually knitted, with slight variations in scale and proportion reflecting the experimental nature of the process.
